Frédéric Méchiche, uno de los decoradores franceses más solicitados, ha convertido tres pequeños apartamentos del barrio parisino de Marais en un espacioso piso de dos plantas con espíritu de “loft”. Para darle un aire clásico, el prestigioso interiorista utilizó materiales antiguos (la madera de las paredes y del suelo, la barandilla de la escalera...). En la decoración mandan la mezcla de estilos y épocas y las obras de arte de maestros contemporáneos.
Biblioteca. Hecha con materiales reciclados, incluida la escalera. Del mobiliario destaca, en primer plano, un raro modelo de silla de Charles Eames.Salón. Predomina el eclecticismo de estilos y épocas.

First-time visitors to this New York apartment may be so dazzled by the collection of pre-Colombian artifacts and contemporary paintings that they ignore the decorating. And that's exactly what interior designer Frédéric Méchiche had in mind: "I don't want a room to look decorated when I am finished, but as if it has always been there," says the Algerian-born designer, who did such a good job re-creating an 18th-century interior in his own Paris flat that some experts were completely fooled.
